Impact Fiction Editing
Bethany Fehr of Impact Fiction is a developmental editor and writing coach who helps Christian storytellers craft novels that ignite hearts and illuminate truth. She believes that stories have incredible power to move our hearts to worthier desires, offer us a safe place to work through our deepest questions, and challenge us to a deeper experience of reality. Through her editing services, she helps authors strengthen the structure of their novels, develop their understanding of story craft, and highlight the heart of their stories so they can touch readers’ souls.
Gibson Prize Winners
First and second place winners of the Gibson Prize for Christian Fiction will receive a developmental edit of their first chapter from Impact Fiction Editing. This will include:

An editorial letter analyzing the chapter's strengths and opportunities for improvement. The letter will focus on the chapter's structural elements, including the opening hook, character introductions, scene structure, exposition, plot, and theme. It will also include a brief review of the author's prose.

Comments in the margins of the manuscript to highlight specific examples of the author's skills and opportunities for improvement.

The developmental edit will not include proofreading, copyediting, or line editing.
